                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF CERTAIN STREETS OR PORTIONS
                   THEREOF, DURING CERTAIN TIMES AND DAYS, MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN WITH DATES,
                   TIMES AND LOCATIONS FOR SPECIFIC EVENTS FOR
                   THE PRESENTATION OF THE "1993 NATIONAL FOLK
                   FESTIVAL" SPONSORED BY THE ALLIED ARTS OF
                   GREATER CHATTANOOGA AND THE "1993
                   CHATTANOOGA RIVERQUEST FESTIVAL" SPONSORED
                   BY THE LOOKOUT ROWING CLUB, UNDER CERTAIN
                   CONDITIONS DESCRIBED HEREIN.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized:
       AQUARIUM LOCATION CLOSURE-
       the temporary closing of the eastbound curblane of Riverfront
       Parkway between Chestnut Street and the Riverset Apartments from
       8:00 A.M. Thursday, October 7, 1993 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday,
       October 7, 1993; the northbound traffic lanes of Chestnut Street
       between 2nd Street and Riverfront Parkway from 8:30 A.M. Friday,
       October 8, 1993 until 6:00 A.M. Saturday, October 9, 1993;
       Chestnut Street between 2nd Street and Riverfront Parkway from
       6:00 A.M. Saturday, October 9, 1993 until 11:59 P.M. Sunday,
       October 10, 1993; and Riverfront Parkway between South River
       Street and Battery Place Ramp from 6:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M.
       Saturday, October 9, 1993 and 8:00 A.M. until 11:59 P.M. Sunday,
       October 10, 1993;

       MILLER PLAZA AND PARK/BESSIE SMITH HALL LOCATION CLOSURE-
       the temporary closing of the southbound left curb turning lane of 

       Georgia Avenue at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and M.L. 
King
       Boulevard, the eastbound left curblane of M.L. King Boulevard
       between Georgia Avenue and Houston Street, to include the 
adjacent
       parking spaces of M.L. King Boulevard between Lindsay Street and
       Houston Street from 6:00 P.M. Thursday, October 7, 1993 until
       11:59 P.M. Sunday, October 10, 1993; the southbound right 
curblane
       of Walnut Street between 5th Street and Georgia Avenue, the
       southbound right curblane of Georgia Avenue between Walnut Street 

       and M.L. King Boulevard, and the northbound left curblane of
       Cherry Street between M.L. King Boulevard and 8th Street from 
4:30
       P.M. until 5:30 P.M. on Friday, October 8, 1993 (Parade from
       Provident Life Insurance Building to Miller Plaza); the temporary 

       closing of M.L. King Boulevard between Market Street and Houston
       Street from 5:30 P.M. Friday, October 8, 1993 until 11:59 P.M.
       Sunday, October 10, 1993;
       BROAD STREET SATURDAY PARADE CLOSURE-
       the temporary closing of the southbound left curblane of Broad
       Street between 2nd Street and M.L. King Boulevard, the eastbound
       curblane of M.L. King Boulevard between Broad Street and Market
       Street from 5:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. on Saturday, October 9,
       1993, all for the presentation of the "1993 National Folk
       Festival" sponsored by the Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga and

       the "1993 Chattanooga Riverquest Festival" sponsored by the
       Lookout Rowing Club provided that the sponsors shall provide at
       all times, an access lane for emergency vehicles and shall
       reimburse the City for the cost of the barricades.
